Dometic CCC2 error codes: E1, E2, E7 and more
Reviewed 1 primary sourceSee sources
On a Dometic CCC2 thermostat, E1 means communication has been lost with one or more system power module boards. It does not identify a failed part by itself. Match the controller below and note the zone before using the code table.

This page uses Revision B of manual 3314149.018 for the two CCC2 controllers above. It does not cover every Dometic thermostat or appliance; E6 is not listed in this manual’s error table.[1]
Look up a code
How to read the code
- The error replaces the temperature set-point on the LCD. A flashing zone number marks an affected zone. Use the ZONE button to view installed zones; the system can have up to four.[1]
- E1 has two cases in this manual: no communication with any power module board, or no communication with an individual board. Record all flashing zones for the service technician.[1]
Codes and what to do
| Code | Meaning | What to do | Who fixes it |
|---|---|---|---|
| E1 | The CCC2 thermostat has lost communication with one power module board or with all of them. Loss to all boards shuts the system down; an individual loss identifies the affected zone, with additional lost zones flashing. | Note the code and every flashing zone. Follow the basic power checks in the manual’s Service section; if it persists, contact a qualified service technician.[1] | Technician |
| E2 | The indoor temperature sensor circuit is open or its reading is outside range. Heating and cooling are locked out; manual fan operation remains available. | The manual gives no owner action.[1] | Technician |
| E3 | The indoor temperature sensor is shorted. Heating and cooling are locked out; manual fan operation remains available. | The manual gives no owner action.[1] | Technician |
| E4 | The outdoor temperature sensor circuit is open or outside range on equipped models. Heat-pump operation is locked out; air conditioning, furnace, heat strip and fan operation can continue. | The manual gives no owner action.[1] | Technician |
| E5 | The freeze-sensor circuit is open or outside range. Air conditioning is locked out; heat pump, furnace, heat strip and fan operation can continue using the last temperature set-point. | The manual gives no owner action.[1] | Technician |
| E7 | All system power module boards have lost their 120 V AC supply. The system shuts down. | Use the manual’s normal generator/shore-power and 120 V AC/12 V DC fuse or breaker checks. If the fault remains, contact a qualified service technician; do not work on wiring.[1] | Technician |
| E8 | One zone is configured for both a heat pump and a heat strip. Heating by those modes and air conditioning are locked out in that zone. | The manual gives no owner action.[1] | Technician |
| E9 | One zone is configured for a dehumidifier together with a heat pump or heat strip. Heat-pump, heat-strip and air-conditioning operation is locked out in that zone. | The manual gives no owner action.[1] | Technician |
When to call a technician
After the manual’s basic power checks, contact a qualified service center if the problem remains. Give the code, affected zones and equipment identification. The controller model is not the air conditioner’s model number.[1] Our mobile RV repair listings cover Colorado Springs and the Boise area so far.
