What to ask before booking mobile RV repair
On this page
Mobile RV repair can save a trip to a shop, but the provider needs to cover both your location and your faulty system. A listing for mobile service is a starting point for that conversation.
Confirm the exact location
Give your current street address, RV park or storage site. Ask whether the technician serves it and whether travel costs are included. If you are staying at a park, check its rules for outside repair providers.
Boise Mobile RV describes a 40-mile radius from Boise. 1A describes about 40 minutes from Star. A drive-time area cannot be treated as the same distance radius.
Name the system that has failed
Explain whether the issue involves a refrigerator, water heater, electrical system, plumbing, slideout or engine. General RV repair descriptions do not establish that every system is covered.
1A’s source explicitly excludes engine and mechanical work, tires, brakes, generators and several other services. A technician offering appliance repair should not be assumed to offer towing or powertrain repair.
Ask about your RV’s make, model and year, any fault code and whether you need authorization from a warranty provider. If warranty work matters, confirm it before a chargeable visit.
Agree on the visit and site access
Ask for an appointment window and how the provider will contact you if it changes. Ask whether it needs access to hookups, keys or the owner. Confirm the park gate procedure and where the vehicle can park.
Do not read a general service listing or an emergency price as a promise of same-day or 24-hour availability. Ask about the actual schedule.
Ask for a written price breakdown
Confirm the call-out, hourly rate, minimum billed time, travel fee, parts and any after-hours charge. Ask what happens if a replacement part needs a second visit.
