Does this diagram match your connector?
Look at the contacts, not just the round housing. The supported RV-blade connector has six flat outer contacts around a center contact. Seven round contacts need a different diagram. Do not use these maps for a vehicle-side USCAR harness connection.[1]
All four views
“Front” means the mating contacts face you. “Rear” means you are looking from the wire-entry side. Turning it around reverses left and right. Keep the key at the top in both views.

CURT supplies the two rear views. Roadmaster’s front drawings independently confirm the six outer positions. Looking at the other face reverses left and right while the key stays at the top.[1][2]
7-way RV wire color examples
These are the two examples in CURT’s guide. Changing between them changes color names, not circuit positions. An installed wire can use a different color.[1]
| Circuit | Traditional RV example | CURT SAE example |
|---|---|---|
| +12V auxiliary power | Black | Orange |
| Tail / running lights | Green | Brown |
| Right stop / turn lamps | Brown | Green |
| Left stop / turn lamps | Red | Yellow |
| Electric wheel brakes | Blue | Blue |
| Ground | White | White |
| Reverse lights | Yellow | Gray |
Before using the map
- This map covers the North American 7-way RV blade family. It does not cover seven round pins, European or Australian connectors, or the vehicle-side USCAR harness connection.[1]
- Wire colors are examples, not a way to identify an unknown circuit. Follow the instructions and markings for your exact connector and verify the circuit functions before connecting.[1]
- The center is reverse in CURT’s RV-blade example. Roadmaster labels it auxiliary/access and leaves it unused in its illustrated application. A matching shape does not prove that your center contact is wired for reverse.[2]
Which contact is for trailer brakes?
The electric wheel-brake circuit is separate from the left and right stop/turn lamp circuits. Choose “Electric wheel brakes” in the finder to see the contact for your selected half and face.[1]
Why use function names instead of pin numbers?
A number without the connector family and viewing face can be ambiguous. This finder uses circuit names and positions. Use your connector manufacturer’s terminal markings when following its instructions.
